The Vitamin You Need Over Many Years
What is a Vitamin?
There are many different vitamins but none that are equal to ascorbic acid. Mostgans would function perfectly well without anyof the B vitamins but ascorbic acid is the key to having the stamina and the energy that ascorbic acid provides.
Ascorbic acid is a water-soluble vitamin ideally made up of three individual amino acids which are classified as:
There are other chemical variations of the vitamin known as:
Some of these can be used technically in your body but ascorbic acid is the best form of vitamin C that is easily used by the body.
Functions of Vitamin C
Once the vitamin has been oxidised it is reduced to either ascorbic acid or dehydroascrobic acid. Vitamin C is essential to human metabolism as it is essential for the synthesis of collagen, which improves the resilience of tissue, especially of cartilage, teeth and gums, blood vessels, and certainly theippery type collagen which is found in tendons, ligaments and the like. The vitamin is also essential for the metabolism of fats.
Because of its role in collagen and the other factors that it influences such as guanine it is linked to the healing of wounds and blood strokes. The vitamin is an important factor in the metabolism of proteins, carbohydrates and fats, for the formation of sphingolipids which are found inikes, glands, organs and joint spaces. Vitamin C is important to the formation of bones and teeth. The vitamin helps to control the blood pressure and also helps the body to resist damage caused by free radicals.
Vitamin C is a poor publicityizer Although the vitamin does well in promoting the growth of collagen it is not so good with publicity. Some persons taking the vitamin supplements and or giving them to their domestic animals produce undesirable consequences. One Animal Control officers found that 13 domestic animals died in a totaled mix of causes. The meat tastes great but the vitamin was foliated away by scavengers.
Another problem produced by taking too many supplements is that your body can hold onto these supplements and for some timeto take the place of the natural sources. The vitamin is a water-soluble vitamin it is not possible to hold onto much of it because of its molecular structure.
Our Opinion on Vitamin Supplementation
Rather than pay for an Administration, we suggest the Vitamin Information Bureau where you can locate supplements, the best kind being those made with natural products.
Usually a vitamin supplement includes other hypo-vitamin compounds that when combined with the vitamin can give even better results. We always suggest you do your homework and thorough studies before you add any new supplements to your diet.
A fully functioning digestive system is the key to a healthy diet; some lucky portions will be all you need to keep your system working properly. When the digestive chemicals generated in the stomachs of the animals, which provide for the break down of foods are not blended off into the bowels easily it is because the mechanism is working too hard.
The quicker that the animal is able to remove the foreign particles the better. You do not want foreign particles remaining in the body because they can make you ill by replicating the foreign proteins that cause hard to digest substances to start creating toxins that can lead to colon and other cancers.
Whenever we cook we reduce the vitamin content of foods especially vegetables.
Unfortunately we do not always cook our foods thoroughly, an example of this is when you cook broccoli, the broccoli is reduced to virtually all the vitamins and minerals with the exception of two or three newly introduced elements.
It is a good idea to cook certain vegetables under boiling water for a few minutes at least to reduce the harshness of the alkaline, but never cook them for more than about five minutes. There is no use cutting the vegetable in half, instead boil it fully, stir constantly for up to five minutes. this will make sure that all the nutrients are preserved.
An orange has about thirty percent more vitamin C than an orange juiced from a carton. When you cut an orange it is still very nutritious, but the difference is that the juice is full of the other ingredients that go into a juicy orange.
Grape juice is a surprisingly good source of vitamin C. A single orange provides twenty five per cent of the daily vitamin C requirement.
Vegetables also contain soluble and insoluble fiber which the body uses in different ways. Soluble fiber will improve the function of the digestive system. Insoluble fiber is passed through the body undigested. It acts like a broom, sweeping up toxins and other deposits before they can build up and cause blockage. It is recommended that vegetables should be eaten, not drank, but juiced.
The more recently discovered types of vitamins and minerals were discovered during the last forty years.
