What Are Living Foods And Do They Provide Health Benefits?
“Living” and “raw” foods are becoming more and more common in our society as we become more mobile, go on the go, and increasingly do without or at the very least, make an effort to stay healthy. But what are they? I’m glad you asked!
Living Foods
By Benjamin Franklin
I think you already know what these terms mean, but if you don’t, here’s a definition: foods which are either raw or living (or vegetable-based) come from plants rather than animals. They contain more vitamins, minerals, enzymes and other components than animal-based products. A raw apple is better for you than a piece of apple pie from the bakery. This is because the amount of processing and animals that are involved with getting organic produce eliminates such a large amount of pesticides, hormones and other chemicals. In the US, by law only 10% of the produce sold must be organic.
Raw and living foods are those that contain more living organisms, which means they contain more vitamins, minerals and digestive enzymes to survive. They more than make up for the lack of processed vitamins, minerals and digestive enzymes in the products.
Comparing Raw and Dead Foods
Comparing the difference between raw and living foods is not as clear as one might think, and the reasons why most people don’t become aware of this are probably the reasons why I’ve created this reading lesson.
During the course of this reading lesson, you’ll learn the following about comparing raw and living foods:
Many people consider the differences between raw and living foods to be insignificant, and they are usually the reasons why they believe that the difference between eating raw and living foods doesn’t matter.
However, what they don’t realize is that the difference between raw and living foods is the most important factor in determining whether you’ll experience maximum health benefits, and the determining factor when buying into the “raw vs. living foods” hype.
Eating Raw and Living Foods is Healthier
participating in an eating regimen which includes mostly raw and living foods can give you many more benefits compared to eating mostly cooked, dead, or processed foods.
Raw and living foods naturally have more vitamins, minerals, enzymes and antioxidants than cooked, dead or processed foods.
When you eat raw and living foods, you give your body a chance to take minerals and nutrients from the food and give them to your cells – something that you can’t do when you eat foods that are loaded with unhealthy pesticides, hormones and antibiotics.
Because raw and living foods are loaded with things that your body can use to function properly, detoxification, energy levels, moods and even weight loss all have to deal with the fact that you are eating live, living foods.
Lots of people don’t understand that just because they are eating something raw, they don’t need to load up on vitamins and minerals in order to have more energy and a healthy weight. I’ll share more on this later in the article.
It’s a Modern phenomena
Our bodies have only been eating raw and living foods for around 10,000 years, which is not long for our evolution to be doing the right things. But now, in the last hundred years or so, that’s where we’ve come from.
Our bodies are built to withstand the chemicals, the chemicals and the foods that we find in modern, processed foods. But can they? I mean, that stuff just doesn’t belong in our bodies.
It’s only found in products that are in a processed state. Take a look at the ingredients list on the products that you use every day. You’ll most likely find a long list of preservatives, dyes, chemicals that no human being should be consuming and a long list of other words that no human being should be consuming.
It makes me wonder what our ancestors stands for. Do you think that our ancestors, in all of their whiter HALF battling, shorter lifetimes, would be healthier than we are today?
Most health professional believe that the only way to achieve a healthy weight is to balance the calories in with the calories out. But, today, we know that it’s impossible. When one thing becomes out of balance, another thing comes in to balance it. And it’s a vicious cycle that just keeps going on and on.
Losing weight, in my opinion, should be something you do for yourself and for your family. But, if you need to lose weight, I’m all for it. A lot of great information can be found online. There are a lot of good places to find a lot of good information.
It’s hard, sometimes, to just walk by the snack table when you’re starving. You want to eat something, but you don’t really want to put yourself in a situation where you’ll be tempted to just pick the obviously fattening food.
