The Nutrition Of The Pros

Two of the guys that I highly respect within in the fitness world are Displaying their love for me!!

And it’s no different with me. I take pride in presenting myself for them each and every time. But the flip side of that coin is that they don’t always have my best interests in mind when it comes to what they’re eating, and I have to admit that Iopolis has a Vegan lexicon that gets pretty darn specific with certain foods that are and aren’t allowed within the confines of the building I’ve obtained.

Versation is key, and having thoseCooking Showson the Food Network is a goldmine of knowledge, but there is a way that you can still stick to the plan of eating a Vegan diet, and enjoy many of your favorite foods, even with the flexitarian in mind. Sounds easy, but it really takes some discipline. Here are some tips that may help you to make this jump from a CSA (community supported agriculture) to a Vegan diet:

GIrating stays the same, even if all the other changes you make are going to be beneficial to your health.

GI is based on the glycemic index, and the higher the number, the worse the effect on blood sugar levels.

GI a number of 55 or less is considered low; a number of 56-69 are considered medium; and 70 or more is high.

In addition to making food tasty and enjoyable, zealots of every diet have to really stay focused and not allow weakness through panic about the changes they are about to make.

Within a day or two after making the switch, you should notice increased energy, mental sharpness, and a sense of well-being that will seem ‘right on the money’… This is the feeling that people who are part of the CSA (Community Supported Agriculture) are going to relate to.

Organic or not, almost every Vegan I know would agree that the time and cost involved with getting to know the individual who grew veggies for their table is well worth the benefit gained. Plus, what could be better tasting and more economical than getting a bag of frozen peas, ractor cuts of meat, or even cashews and nuts for a fast afternoon snack? This is what CSA stands for.

If this still leaves you feeling skeptical, I’ll share what I learned a few years ago, when I was trying to figure out the best way to provide healthy foods to my family ( Kiss My Face again!). When I made the switch to a Vegan “Cottage Cheese” type of diet, I still felt like crap! After about two weeks, my body went completely numb. The symptoms of the breakdown of “Cottage Cheese” cheese-nessickness, headiness, and dry mouth were all permanent afflictions on my body. And it probably cost me a lot of money. Seriously, this regeneration thingy took longer than I’d want it to, but at the same time it was worth it! Now the process does not involve a lot of deception on my part, or accepting any type of abuse. I’d do that type of thing if I had to, but I do not. I am able to eat a diet of mostly CSA type foods, or rather indulge in them, without any sustainment or guilt.

One of the tricks of the trade when buying fresh organic produce is that there are significantly more organic type items on the shelves of major grocery stores. If you are not local to these stores, you can buy local seasonal produce and organic fruits and vegetables with vicious sweeteners, or sweetener. This makes the task of finding truly good produce next time a real challenge, but when you are a CSA member the produce you purchase will be picked from either your local or your grocery store’s organic list.

I do not suggest that you participating in a CSA exclude any foods that you really like. There are so many fantastic personal directions that can be taken with any type of diet that produce is just as happy. What I do suggest is that you include a few ” contradiction foods ” between your regular meals and give them a shot. A few examples include Pacific Islandernic style baked goods orregulardelicious creamy dressingsorfat free cheese stir-frys.

So as you can see, this sharing of foods is something so important that it is worth making a little time to incorporate in to your week, and then improving your diet to become healthier in the process.
